The Decatur County Carl Perkins Center was the benefactor of the 13th annual Carl Perkins Classic held in Parsons, Tennessee on a perfect October weekend.
The main event was the 2 day bass fishing tournament that drew 112 boats! But that wasn’t all Decatur County had going on. The fairgrounds held events throughout both days for the land lovers.
There were: local and not-so-local venders, a alive auction, concessions favorites like, BBQ and Tommy Lee’s fish, a kids fishing rodeo, pumpkin painting, a balloon animal artist who didn’t stop at animals, a beta fish giveaway, Hank Ivey with his chainsaw carving & Bobby Keaton and the Boot Scooters even held a “Git Up” challenge!
All of this kicked off on Friday and came to a close as winners were announced Saturday night.
First place in the Classic went to Tim Cobb & Jason Brown with a total weight of 33.94 pounds. Second place went to Eric Fuller & Brian Smith with a weight of 33.86 pounds. The third place winners were Marshall Russell & Hunter Garrett with a total weight of 32.46pounds.
The Big Fish awards went to Jeff Gieske, Jeff Kerstiens, Eric Croft & David Ross.
Local Carl Perkins Center director Clay Jordan said, “We thank the LORD for pouring out his blessings”.
