    Reelfoot NWR announces dates and application procedures for the 2020 deer quota hunts to be held on the federal refuge on November 6th-8th, and 13th-15th, 2020. A quota youth hunt will also be held on October 31st-November 1st, 2020. A drawing will be used to randomly select applicants for the Grassy Island and Long Point units of the refuge. For the hunts held in November, 75 applicants will be drawn for Long Point, and 50 applicants will be drawn for Grassy Island. For the youth hunt, 25 permits will be drawn for both Long Point and Grassy Island. A permit fee of $15 per hunter is payable upon notification of selection for the quota hunt. To apply for the drawing, applicants must:
    Submit a stamped, self-addressed, U. S. Postal Service Post Card with the following information.
    Type or clearly print the 1.) Full legal name, 2.) Address, 3.) Phone Number, and 4.) Hunt preference by location and date; (i.e. Long Point or Grassy Island; Youth Oct-31-Nov 1, November 6-8, or November 13-15).
    One name on the front of the post card and up to three names on the back. Limit of four names per hunting party. If applying for the youth hunt, the adult supervisor name MUST be on the card with the youth hunter. Please label names as “youth” and “supervisor” on the card.

    Applications will be accepted between July 1 and the close of business (4 pm CST) on July 31. The drawing will be conducted on August 3rd. Submission of multiple cards, and illegible or incomplete name or address will disqualify the applicant(s). Grassy Island hunters must comply with hunting regulations for Tennessee while Long Point hunters must comply with hunting regulations for either Tennessee or Kentucky, in accordance with the state in which their license was purchased. Federal hunting regulations also apply. For the November quota hunts, the bag limit is 2 deer. Hunters must harvest an antlerless deer on any previous Reelfoot NWR hunt or during this hunt before harvesting an antlered deer. Deer harvested for this hunt count as Bonus Deer. For the YOUTH HUNT, the bag limit is the same as the State, and harvested deer count towards the Statewide Bag Limit. Tennessee hunters must check deer harvested on the refuge at a State-approved check station or on the TWRA website. Kentucky hunters should turn in the bonus deer tag to the refuge office.     Hatchie NWR

    Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) announces dates and application procedures for the 2020 Quota Deer Gun Hunt held on November 6th-8th, and November 13th-15th, 2020.
    To apply for a quota deer gun hunt permit, type or plainly print the names, addresses, and phone numbers w/ area code on an official U.S. Postal Service Postcard.
    Up to four hunters may apply on the same postcard. One hunter’s information on the front of the postcard and up to three additional hunter’s information on the back. Clearly indicate your hunt choice(s) (i.e. 1st Choice November 6-8, and 2nd Choice November 13-15, or November 1-3 hunt only or November 8-10 hunt only).
    Send postcard in an envelope addressed to the Refuge Manager at Hatchie NWR, 6772 Highway 76 South, Stanton, TN 38069.
    Applications will be accepted between July 1 and the close of business (4 pm CST) on July 31. The drawing will be held on August 3rd, at 9 a.m. at the Refuge office. Applicants are welcome to participate in the public drawing.
    Duplicate, incomplete, non-legible applications and/or on anything other than an official U.S. Postcard will not be considered for the drawing.
    Both the youth hunter and the supervising adult must apply together on the same postcard to be selected for the quota hunt.
    Only successful applicants will be notified by mail to submit $15.00 per hunter (money order or cashier’s check ONLY) payable to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
    Quota Permits: 250 permits per hunt
    All quota permits are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Only persons drawn for the hunt are allowed to participate in the hunt (No hunt guests are permitted).
    Bag Limit: Bag Limit: Two deer. One antlered and one antlerless deer. An antlerless deer can be harvested during the Hatchie NWR archery season and must be harvested BEFORE an antlered deer. Harvested deer count as bonus deer.
    All harvested deer must be checked in with the state as harvested on Hatchie NWR.
