In order to provide more opportunities for duck hunters, TWRA is adding new quota permits for select locations to public lands. This fall there is a completely new quota hunt opportunity for duck hunters to apply for 3, 4, or 7-day hunts. These short term hunts will be at one of 2 types of locations: agency built blinds (Tier 2) or staked locations (Tier 3) to hunt within 25 feet. There will be 42 Tier 2 locations and 10 Tier 3 locations. Hunters can apply for Tier 2 and 3 permits online in the quota hunt system (like the existing deer/turkey quota system) in 3 application periods, the first one beginning Oct. 6.
